Blame It On Steinski

Good thing Jesus is coming soon

Because he’ll undoubtedly tell us there’s no such thing as global warming, it’s just the gentle radiance of God’s love.

In the meantime, examine these photographs from the US Geological Survey providing evidence that Glacier National Park is melting. Maybe Jesus is coming to see the glaciers before they’re gone.

Ralphie’s Bop City Pt. 6

Really the most satisfying part of doing the entire project was hearing answers that surprised and delighted with their unexpected quality. That’s what made the best questions so good; they were broad enough so that there weren’t a lot of duplicate responses, and the answers were really and truly personal. This week’s tape is a good example of that.

I’ve run through all my top-of-mind…

Ralphie’s Bop City Pt. 5

Parties and lunches weren’t the only contact I had with Bop City callers. Going through the folder into which I tossed everything Ralphie-related, I’ve found quite a bit of correspondence, which I’ll dig into further in the near future. But one of the things that leaped right out was the wedding invitation.

Regular callers developed a real connection with the project, and quite a few of them…

Ralphie’s Bop City, Pt. 4

The first Ralphie’s Bop City meet ‘n greet event in Battery Park was a hit (as far as I was concerned), and I ran the scenario a few more times. Of the 2 gala occasions we’ll examine in this post, one was on a smaller scale, and one considerably larger.

I’ll fly away.
I’ll fly away, oh glory, I’ll fly away.
When I die, Hallelujah, by and by,

Jackie Pilliciotti RIP

She loved music, and literature, and the beach. She worked tirelessly for charity. She had a quick wit, she loved to laugh, she baked like an angel.

She was very hard to know.

She struggled for a long time. God grant her rest.

Jackie’s friend Steve Peters writes eloquently about…

Ralphie’s Bop City Pt. 3

Bop City experienced its first real surge of popularity when it was taken up by the phone sales staff of a large Wall Street brokerage firm, one that dealt primarily with accounts in the Midwest. Several locals who spent their days on the phone with people 1500 miles away pressed the number on their contacts, and soon twangy Chicago voices joined the Noo Yawk accents heard on the line.
