Some bailout protests you didn\'t see on the news

A lot of people took to the streets (Wall St. in particular) to protest the bailout and the hysteria that accompanied it's passage. The media dismissed these protests entirely, with no coverage; therefore, they didn't happen.

In case you'd like to see the protests that happened while there were no protests, there's a whole lot of footage (some of it drearily repetitive) posted on the web. Well worth checking out.

From The Big O via Bob P.

Today's fun fact: Before billionaire Henry Paulson was appointed Secretary Of The Treasury and formulated this massive giveaway to the financial industry, he was chairman of the board at Goldman Sachs. Paulson was one of the 5 people who headed the successful lobbying of the Bush Administration to remove the legal constraints on the investment banking industry that prevented it from investing in mortgage backed securities, thereby causing the current financial meltdown. And he paid top dollar to get those laws lifted, too.

Neat how that worked out.
