Nobody believes me

Nobody believes meI’ve been traveling a lot the past 2 years or so in Europe as a DJ; I’ve had the opportunity to meet and spend time with a lot of wonderful people.

I often fall into political discussions with promoters, club owners, other DJ’s, journalists, etc. – a panoply of people with different viewpoints and opinions about the world political situation.

In attempting to help these intelligent people puzzle out why America acts the way it does, I’ve put forth one of the most troubling statistics in many years; most major surveys of beliefs regarding evolution vs. creationsim show that a majority of Americans do not believe in the theory of evolution. America has turned into a third world country, where belief eclipses proof every time. Creationism is not going away; indeed, it’s on the rise.

The other point I have trouble getting across – and this gets lumped in with nonexistent gun control, racism, and general hysteria – is exactly how fascist the right-wing is in America. Now, at least, I can send them a link to a very good indicator.

Here’s a small taste (and they’re serious):

If President Bush copied Julius Caesar by ordering his army to empty Iraq of Arabs and repopulate the country with Americans, he would achieve immediate results: popularity with his military; enrichment of America by converting an Arabian Iraq into an American Iraq (therefore turning it from a liability to an asset); and boost American prestige while terrifying American enemies.
