My bile remains intact

1) WFMU turned me on to a wonderful post from The Beast of the 50 Most Loathsome People in America. Excellent stuff. some of my faves: #47, #45, and, um, everything else.

2) Paul Krugman is right on the money in this NYT column about not forgiving and forgetting the serious crimes of the Republican scum.

“I’m sorry, but if we don’t have an inquest into what happened during the Bush years – and nearly everyone has taken Mr. Obama’s remarks to mean that we won’t – this means that those who hold power are indeed above the law because they don’t face any consequences if they abuse their power.”

3) The whole Brad Schlozman steaming pile of crap, of course.

4) And in the final moments of the Republican 8 year reign, there are still a few more nasty surprises under the flat rock.

5) Plus a fairly comprehensive enumeration of Republican government officials ripe for prosecution.

The wife made an interesting point the other night – the press is all aflutter over the fact that Obama’s black, but what gets lost in the shuffle is that he’s smart; he reads, thinks, and acts like a rational person. True, we’ve never had a black pres before, but we haven’t had an intelligent one in 8 years, either, and that’s what’s put us in the shitter, but good.
